- continued practice with punctuation

- just
- from
- any
- how

Math:
We are working hard to make sure that we write our numbers between 1-120 without flips, naming numbers up to 120, and determining what comes before and after a given number.
This week we will work on the following skills:
- practice relating counting on and counting back for addition and subtraction
- use addition and subtraction within 20 to solve word problems
Science:
We will continue to make observations on our lima bean seeds as they grow and change. We will be planting the seedlings in soil this week. We are learning about the importance of the root, stem, and leaves.
Leader in Me:
This week we will be learning about Habit 6: Synergize! We will be learning that "together is better!"
Friday Journals:
We wrote our first entry for our Friday Journals.
The students are working on writing down their ideas and sharing their experiences from the week here at school. I can't wait to see how the students grow with their writing from Week 1 through the end of the school year with handwriting, spelling, writing complex sentences,
and including higher-level vocabulary!
Please make sure to write 1-2 sentences on the next page of your child's journal.
The journals are due back to school on Tuesday.
Each day we pick two leaders to go through and lead our class with the
Class Mission and our 7 Habits.
Ask your child to see what he/she remembers from the mission and the 7 Habits!
Our Leader of the Week brought in a book from home to read to the class.
We love hearing stories read by our classmates!
Our Guest Reader came in and read a story to the class.
We learned that it is important to have goals, to synergize, and to think win-win!
We are doing an amazing job connecting the stories to our 7 Habits!
We read a story about two animals that one wouldn't expect to be friends.
After reading the story with our buddy, we answered questions on the back using
information from the chart.
We then made a text-to-text connection with our Owen & Mzee book!
