We learned a poem called "EEKK" to help us with our buddy reading.
Today we took turns practicing EEKK while reading different books about Families with our partner.
This week we learned about how we can use transition words in our writing to help the reader understand the order of events. After reading with our buddy, we worked independently on retelling the story using the transition words "First, Next, Then, and Last." We posted our retellings on Seesaw.
Our Guest Reader came in today to read to the class!
We continued our learning of looping patterns.
To help us make the connection, we sang and did the motions for Macarena!
We realized that songs and dance steps can be looping patterns!
We explored a new coding app called Scratch Jr.
We learned some basic tools to create a looping pattern.
The students then explored and created their own looping patterns.
After they created the looping pattern, they could change the background
and add other details to their coding project.
While creating our coding lines for Scratch, students worked together to learn new strategies.
How did you get Scratch to do that? Can you teach me?
It was a great day of synergizing!
We ended our day with our Friday Journal writing to tell our families what we
learned this week at school.
We tried to include transition words in our letter.
If your child did not finish the letter, have your child tell you about all that we did this week!
I had to share a picture of what I saw Friday evening on a walk/scooter ride with my daughter.
There is a road near my house that is lined with these trees.
I absolutely love the rainbow of colors, especially with the sun shining on it!
Happy Fall!
