STEM and unplugged coding

1st Graders exploring the SMART Lab as we construct a plant that can stand
without any human support. Through our exploration, we learned the importance of
the roots and stem for supporting the plant.

Unplugged Coding:

After listening to the story, The Gruffalo, students created algorithms to program their partner to get Jiji from the starting nut through all of the characters the mouse met in the story in the correct order.

In our math rotations, we worked on building our understanding of numbers to 120 and beyond.
We had to determine the missing number in one activity.
In the other activity, students picked a card and wrote the next 3 numbers that come after.

We had a great day!
