ELA:
As we wrap up our Cinderella Around the World, students will begin drafting their own versions of Cinderella. Each story needs to have the a setting, characters, tragic event, magical event, time, missing item, and happy ending. We will be working through the writing process by brainstorming, writing a first draft, revising, and writing the final draft. We look forward to sharing our final pieces with you in the upcoming weeks!
Skills that we will be working on this week include the following:
- Introduction and practice with quotation marks
- Including varying words for "said" and other common words in our writing
- Reinforcing letter writing skills (Capitalization and commas for date, greeting, and closing)
- Author's Purpose (P-persuade, I-inform, and E-entertain)
MATH:
We will continue to build on the skills we have been working on this year at our "just-right-fit." This week we will be adjusting groups and the skills introduced and reinforced.
- Money using the dollar and cents signs appropriately
- Measurement introducing different units of measurement
- Adding (with/without regrouping) and comparing two numbers using <, >, and =
Science:
