We began our day with our Morning Meeting.
During this time, we go through our calendar, days in school, weather, and more!
Students were very excited to have the opportunity to "lead" the class in the learning.
When we finished our Morning Meeting, we practiced our counting.
Today, we worked on counting up to 30 with a buddy alternating turns.
Our super challenge was counting backwards, alternating, with the same buddy.
Way to go! Tomorrow we will challenge ourselves to skip counting by 10s, 5s, and 2s!
Today we learned about goal setting. We took turns sharing ideas on what we would like to be able to do by the end of the school year. We wrote our goals down on paper as we completed the sentence.
In 1st Grade, you will notice our spelling is phonetic. I like to call it "turtle talking." This is where we write down the sounds that we hear in unknown words. It is different than our word wall words. We use our resource (the word wall) to copy the words to spell the words correctly.
I am encouraging students to do brave spelling and not ask to have the words spelled for them.
Me Bags: We had our final round of sharing for the Me Bags activity.
It was amazing to see the confidence in our leaders presenting!
Seesaw:
We set up our Seesaw accounts today and added our first piece to our portfolios.
Please make sure to connect to your child's account so you can see all of the great learning that takes place in our classroom!
