Read Theory:
We are working on reading and answering questions about the text on a new website called "Read Theory." Please have your child sign in, read, and answer all of the questions about the text at least one time during the week at home. We are learning how to go back in the passage to find the answer to the question.
Math:
You will find a new math assignment posted on Tenmarks that is due on Monday, December 12th. Please have your child spend a few minutes each night to complete the assignment.
I also sent home a math game where your child will practice looking for addition equations. Please complete both games (Game 1 and Game 2 on the same sheet) and turn in on Friday.
This week we will be working on the following skills:
- Review reading and interpreting information on a graph
- Ordering numbers from least to greatest
- Determining the missing number from an addition or subtraction equation
- Answering addition and subtraction word problems (showing our work)
Science:
This week we will begin Unit 2: Light and Sound. We will begin by learning how light helps us to see.
Hour of Code:
This week is Hour of Code. We are extremely fortunate in our class to already have experience with computer science, coding, and robotics this year. So far, we have explored Scratch Jr., Ozobots, Sphero, Dash, and Cubelets. I look forward to providing more opportunities this week for students to learn new apps for coding and learn new features so we can tackle some challenges for our robotics.
